A Lineage Guide to the First Day of Autumn

A Lineage Guide to the First Day of Autumn

Here at Lineage, we always choose to celebrate the little moments in life. We look for opportunities to make sure our loved ones feel appreciated. We love to care for our family, friends and community each and every day by creating memories that will last a lifetime. What better occasion to seize than the first day of Autumn! This spectacular season is bursting with breathtaking colours, warm scents and cozy vibes. We have a splendid way to invite Autumn in. Imagine a day strolling hand in hand, gazing at nature, while enjoying the breeze and sunshine.

We have curated a list of some beloved orchards in the Vancouver area. Visiting an orchard is just as delightful as you’d think it is. You can’t help but appreciate a simple moment while surrounded by the fall atmosphere. We have also collected recipes so you can make the most out of your pickings! If you can’t visit one of the places that we suggest, we encourage you to look up somewhere closer to home or visit your local farmers market to stock up on your apples. We can already smell the baked apples and cinnamon!

We love to support family run businesses, and similar to Lineage Ceramics, three generations of family run the Taves Family Farms. In Abbotsford, they offer a variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy. U-pick apples and berries, an apple cider mill, hay rides, a pumpkin patch, and corn mazes are just some of the fun things you can find at the farm. When you are all done exploring, we know the perfect comforting meal to make when you get home. This recipe for Kale & Apple Soup from Kitchn is full of unique flavours. We appreciate that it is easily adaptable for vegetarians and vegans and is simple to follow. This soup would look extra appealing within one of our Salad Bowls

After a day full of picture perfect moments, we encourage you to bring home your apples and get everyone involved in creating something in the kitchen. We love this delectable recipe for homemade apple strudel by Inspired by Charm. Nothing will make your home smell more delicious than apples baking within pastry in your oven! Serve the strudels hot from the oven onto our Deep Plates for an extra cozy end to your day.

This is the place to spend an entire day out enjoying the community of BC with your partner, friends or family. Save your apples for a spectacular brunch the next day! We are infatuated with this recipe for Cinnamon Apple Pancakes with Vanilla Maple Syrup by Averie Cooks. Can you imagine waking up to these on your breakfast table? A guaranteed way to show your love to your family or that special someone. A simple stack of pancakes would look delectably delicious on our Entrée Plates.

A little farther east from us in the Okanagan Valley is Paynter’s Fruit Market. Their first orchard was planted in 1919! You can pick apples, pears and plums or shop more fruit, vegetables and other BC products in their market. The best way to enjoy a cozy evening after a day outdoors is to cook up some Homemade Apple Cider. This recipe from Gimme Some Oven is easily made in a crockpot, instant pot or on the stove. We love pouring a steaming mug of cider into one of our 16 oz Big Mugs

We hope these recipes fill your home with warmth. We can practically smell the apples cooking, and hear the loved ones laughing. We would love to see you living our advice!
