A Lineage Guide to Holiday Desserts in Vancouver + Victoria

A Lineage Guide to Holiday Desserts in Vancouver + Victoria

Hosting a holiday dinner comes with a myriad of tasks that eat up time and sweat for the sake of entertaining guests. A list as long as Old Saint Nick’s should simply not be required to accomplish a quaint and elegant holiday dinner.

Here at Lineage we believe that dinners are meant to be enjoyed over good food and wholesome conversation; that includes the host. While you’re planning to impress, alleviate the stress of being up on your feet and running around throughout the duration of your gathering by working smarter — not harder. We suggest starting with dessert, by sourcing out sweet treats for your festive feast.

We’ve curated a list of excellent bakeries, chocolatiers and pâtisseries all local to the Vancouver and Victoria area to help you wow your guests with the final course of the evening, and allow you to sit and enjoy the grande finale with them.

Mon Paris Pâtisserie can be found in Burnaby and creates delectable Christmas Logs ready to share this holiday season. They are also known for their chocolate ornaments filled with truffles that guests are encouraged to smash (with an included mallet) for a delicious and unique dessert course.

Indulge in scrumptious smells and baked goods from Wildfire Organic Bakery in Victoria. Pick up a box of their ginger folx for a cute and delicious dessert for a feast, or a taste to simply accompany a mid-morning coffee date.

Stop by The Bench Bakehouse on Commercial Drive for all things Christmas and sweet this season. They have an extensive holiday menu available for online orders. We’re a fan of their Shortbread Cookie Box, available in three sizes so you can have a selection large enough to share (or not).

Thierry Chocolates

Deliciously crafted by maitre artisan Chocolatier and Patissier Chef Thierry Busset, the sweets that are delivered by Theirry Chocolates are melt-in-your-mouth delight. We guarantee you won’t have leftovers with any item from his menu. Our particular favourite is of course the Chestnut Bûche de Noël, made with hazelnut sponge, chestnut bavaroise, candied chestnut and chocolate ganache.

Temper Pastry rounds out our holiday dessert guide with their vivid Christmas ornament balls. The glossy dark chocolate ornaments are filled with caramel salty balls, bringing in a salty/sweet combo perfect for an after-dinner treat.
